Rapid Prototype Development A few of many special rapid prototype development projects undertaken by Lucidata. Designed, tested, manufactured and delivered to the customer within a few weeks using our in-house design and test facilities.

Project Pinpoint - GPS Interface

Designed to withstand harsh mobile conditions, the VOCU (Vehicle Operator Control Unit) provides a custom human interface to satellite communications and GPS tracking equipment. Receipt and transmission of simple messages from/to anywhere in the World using linked-in International carriers is possible from anywhere that is visible to the Inmarsat satellite network. Full global tracking of the vehicle is achieved using the widely available GPSS System.

Project Hydra - Telemetry Interface

Many remote systems including satellite links have interface structures that are quite different from RS232 asynchronous. In this project, Lucidata designed and delivered a prototype protocol converter for interfacing a standard PC COM port to a bit multiplexed synchronous telemetry unit in only four weeks.

Project Tingle - Analogue Signal Generation

In this project a system was designed to allow the precision generation and timing control of a large number of analogue signals from a simple PC interface. The signals drove a multi-electrode electrolytic cell controlling the electrochemical synthesis of oligonucleotides used for probes in DNA hybridisation.
